The Citabria 7KCAB

Charlie Gulf Gulf Mike Sierra - is a 1975 Citabria 7KCAB. The Citabria is a common aerobatic instructional aircraft; and is often seen competing in Basic, Sportman, and at times, the intermediate levels of competition.

Rated to +5 and -2 G's, and with it's inverted systems, many feel that a better aircraft can't be found for aerobatic instruction. With it's 150hp engine, the Citabria is strong enough to get itself out of any problems which could occur, and still remains a very docile, and forgiving aircraft to fly.

Advantages to the Citabria are that it is large and easy to see at the performance level, and is a popular/easily recognized aircraft to general aviation enthusiasts.  It seems that at every show I attend, someone, or several people approach me stating that they or a family member own or have owned one, but had no idea the aircraft could perform the maneuvers shown.  Being a slower performing aircraft, maneuvers are easily followed, and the show remains in front of the spectators.
